Season 4 spoilers ahead.
Surprise surprise! Emily's back. Or at least she will be soon for Season 5 of "Emily in Paris," on Netflix.
Netflix announced Monday that its escapist rom com, "Emily in Paris," will be returning for a fifth season.
"There's no place like Rome!" Lily Collins, who plays Emily, says in the announcement video.
Series creator Darren Star told Netflix's Tudum that the creators were "thrilled with the incredible response" to Season 4 and are "excited to return for a fifth to continue Emily’s adventures in Rome and Paris!"

Season 4 of the series ended with Emily temporarily moving to Rome to open an office for Agence Grateau in the city and to spend time with her handsome new beau Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini).
Is Emily moving to Rome?
But does that mean Emily permanently moving to Rome? The short answer is no.
“Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome,” Star told Tudum. “It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris, but she’s going to have a presence in Rome.”
The series creator added the decision to move Emily to Italy was a move to “stay ahead of the audience and take them to unexpected places,” and prove “the show has the ability to have a bigger footprint.”
Earlier, in a post-season interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Star had said that the series will spend some time in Rome but will not be leaving Paris permanently.
"We’ll spend some time in Rome. But she did not change her Instagram handle to Emily in Rome," Star had said. "…They can be in more than one city, and Emily can spend time in Rome. She can spend time in Paris, too. She’s not leaving Paris."
On Emily's hot new beau, Star said Season 5 will explore more of Emily's relationship with Marcello Muratori.
“I feel like they have a real spark and a real connection and a real romantic connection. A lot of that’s going to continue to play out next season," Star said.
Star had earlier told THR he intended to introduce Marcello as a fresh start for the American in Paris.
“I wanted to bring in a new love interest for Emily that would feel like a fresh start after all of the drama with Gabriel,” Star had told the media outlet. “Marcello comes into Emily’s life in an unexpected way and opens the door to so many possibilities for Emily: new country, new culture, new adventure.”
Collins told Tudum she is looking forward to seeing what happens between Emily and Marcello.
“Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance,” Collins told Tudum. “We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time.”
As for Gabriel, we'll have to wait and find out and Collins says he will have "to deal with the repercussions of his choice."
With a new season of "Emily in Paris" officially announced, what we know so far about Season 5 of "Emily in Paris," including cast and release date.
Will there be 'Emily in Paris' Season 5?
Yes. Netflix on Monday announced that "Emily in Paris" has officially been renewed for Season 5.
While Netflix had earlier remained mum on whether the series would be returning for a new season, and a rep for the streaming platform said there was no news to share when contacted by USA TODAY last week, the likelihood of a Season 5 was high. A walk-on role in the show's fifth season was auctioned off as part of amfAR Gala during the Cannes Film Festival in May 2024, Variety had reported, with presenters Winnie Harlow and Paris Jackson saying Season 5 was scheduled to begin shooting sometime in mid-2025. The walk-on role, courtesy of Star, was reportedly auctioned for approximately $277,000 (€250,000).
The winner of the auction “will have the opportunity to spend a day on set in Paris during filming, contingent upon season 5 pickup," the bid read.
